Brooks Cascadia 8

  •   January 2013

If there's a trail involved, the Brooks Cascadia 8 is ready for action. Built for ultramarathons and more, this shoe packs adaptable cushioning for any runner over any distance. The lugged outsole and full ground contact will grip on all sorts of gritty and wet stuff, and a forefoot rockplate helps prevent painful surprises.

The supportive upper provides a close fit, while a no-sew construction means your foot will remain in comfort for miles on end.

The Cascadia 8 is a moderate feature, moderate neutral trail shoe designed for racing, daily training and high mileage. It is built with a semi-curved shape.

The Brooks Cascadia 8 running shoe is engineered to adapt to the surface and your foot.   Moisture-managing, breathable Elementâ„¢ mesh upper with microfiber and synthetic overlay materials.  Suede geometric pattern wraps the foot for a close fit.  Forefoot DNA is designed for flexibility to ensure a smooth transition from
heel strike to toe off.

Caterpillar Crash Pad on the lateral side smoothes that heel-to-toe transition even more. BioMoGo offers resilient cushioning and extends the full length of the midsole. Heel Pivot System comprises of independent medial/laterial posts that are shaped to reduce the destabilizing effect of trail irregularities.

The Forefoot Pivot System is located under the lateral side of the metatarsals and is shaped to adapt to varied terrain surfaces to help keep the shoe from toppling over. HPR Green outsole offers increased traction and skid-resistance.

These shoes felt good for mid to long range training runs.  I used them for long runs which the shoe felt solid,  sturdy and my feet felt very comfortable.
