If you find yourself running both roads and trails, the FluidFeel may be the shoe for you.  It blends the off and on-road runability, the Montrail Fluidfeel is your new all-terrain training partner.   With a good cushioned platform and well designed forefoot plate for underfoot protection, this ensures your grip on a variety of surfaces.

This shoe is ready for whatever run you have in store.    It has an open toebox and snug midfoot which provides a secure fit, while reflective detailing on the upper keep you visible and safe when night running.

It has an road outsole is largely free of aggressive tread, so it will roll smoothly over even terrain, but it still has enough grip for occasional passes on more technical singletrack roads.    The heel cushioning felt to be the softest part of this shoe.    For runners needing additional support, the FluidFeel has a small medial post under the arch that helps prevent the foot from rolling too far inward.

The Fluidfeel cushioning felt firm and responsive while running on pavement.    The firm cushioning and the smooth tread pattern was a great combination for pavement running.  The shoe was great for transitioning from pavement to trail running.

As a hybrid, smooth trail running was as good as pavement running.   I was unable to run the Fluidfeel on more technical trails, but due to the smooth tread pattern I can only see the shoe having issues on the trails when it’s wet out.   On the slippery muddy rocky terrain, it felt like it lacked traction.

You can train and race on the trails with the Montrail FluidFeel trail running shoe.   This shoe has a lightweight and nimble feel that will keep you going fast and keep you low to the ground.

This shoe weighed in at 10.5 oz and has a 9 mm heel-to-toe drop.    Overall, this shoe provides good dry grip traction and is a very soft cushioned shoe.    These shoes felt very good for long trail training runs.
