New Balance MT1010 V2

  • October 2012

The MT1010 boasts a combination of cushioning, minimalism, and a trail shoe.  Though the MT1010 does not fall into the popular minimalist trail shoe, due to it's increased cushioning and rock protection, it boasts a 4 mm heel-to-toe drop.

The MT1010 tested well on hardpack and rocky trails.  The Vibram outsole provided good footing running up and down trail hills.  The MT1010 has a wide forefoot to allow for more natural toe play.  The roomy forefoot made the shoe a good option for runners with a wider foot that may otherwise been tighter on other trail shoes.

This shoe felt good for a daily training shoe and for racing since they are very lightweight.

These shoes felt good for mid to long trail training runs.   These were a good option for making a translational shoe in moving from a normal trail shoe to a more minimalist trail shoe.  Also, I have used them for a few half marathons which the shoe felt light and fast.
